Roydon Andrew Fraser obtained his BASc Engineering Physics degree from Queen’s University, Canada, his PhD Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, U.S.A., and is currently a professor of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering (MME) at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Fraser’s research expertise centers on quantum technologies, hybrid energy systems, electrified vehicles, second-law (exergy) analysis, and energy storage. In 2024 Fraser was recognized by Clarivate as being a top 0.1% highly cited researcher, while Fraser’s teaching has been recognized with Teaching Excellence awards, NSF Long-Term Supervisor awards, and his past installment as the MME Teaching Chair.
