Bernard Lee, PhD, CFA , is the Founder and CEO of HedgeSPA, an AI and quantum boutique specializing in fintech and sustainability. He previously served as Managing Director in BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group in New York, where he oversaw both private-market and public investment portfolios, and has consulted for global energy majors including Chevron Texaco. Bernard has been recognized by Risk-Waters, the gold standard in fintech, for pioneering advanced multi-asset analytics on BlackRock’s renowned investment platform—leveraging his own background intellectual property. His groundbreaking application of Graph Neural Network AI to real-time stochastic control has also delivered significant improvements in renewable energy efficiency. These innovations attracted funding support from the Singaporean Prime Minister’s Office and its sister agencies to launch HedgeSPA. Bernard remains deeply engaged in academia, having held professorships in Singapore, the US, and Hong Kong. His team consistently contributes to knowledge creation, publishing at least once a quarter in top-quartile scientific journals including Springer-Nature, ACM, ASA, and IEEE. He also serves on journal editorial boards, contributes to major conference steering committees, and is a member of one of Stanford’s regional alumni boards.
