Germany
Emil Roduner studied chemistry at the University of Zürich, obtained an MSc from RPI in Troy, NY and his PhD at the University of Zürich. From 1995 until his formal retirement 2012 he held a Chair in Physical Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and thereafter a visiting professorship at the University of Pretoria until 2020. His research interests include size-effects and magnetism of platinum nano-clusters and mechanisms of elementary steps in catalysis and electrocatalysis. He wrote an advanced textbook on Nanoscopic Materials: Size-Dependent Phenomena and Growth Principles (RSC, 2014, second edition) and coauthored one on Optical Spectroscopy – Fundamentals and Advanced Applications (World Scientific, 2018). Since his retirement he focused on the foundations of quantum mechanics.
